What does a host do?

As a host, you offer accommodation, meals, guidance, cultural exchange, and emotional support to international students, ensuring their overseas learning experience is safe, enjoyable, and enriching. 

How do I become a host family?

The first step is to sign up, we will then get in touch with you, complete a home visit and get you certified.

What payment do I get as a host?

We give families a contribution towards hosting, which depends on the length of the homestay.

I am not a traditional family? is it possible to host

Of course! Our hosts come in all shapes and sizes and we welcome such diverse families as single parent households, empty-nesters, and families with small children.

May I host more than one student at a time?

Yes, you can host up to four students in your home, with a maximum of two sharing a room. For some of our junior destinations, hosting up to 3 in a room is possible

What are your top tips for new host families?

Be open, honest, start only as you mean to go on, be patient and understanding, and speak if there are problems.
